Born in New Zealand, Tim Wilson’s training as a painter began on long walks through his native countryside, analyzing light, perspective and shadow with his colour-blind father.
The result of a life-long love affair with the natural beauty of his homeland, Wilson’s paintings emphasize the sensory richness of the real world. Best described as Magic Realism, each work allows the spirit of the subject to reveal itself through the accuracy of the artists’ portrayal. The magic of Wilson’s painting is within the subject; it is not the subject itself.
